VACATION.TRAVEL.EXPLORE This sounds so exciting and adventurous isn't it? Many of us love going to new places on vacations. From learning about traditional food to learning about best points to visit is so much fun. But if we are not pre informed and dont have enough knowledge beforehand it can sometimes become tiring and hectic and who wants that? After all vacations should be perfect way to relax. So today I am going to tell you about Gangtok. Gangtok is Sikkim's capital lying in the eastern Himalayan range at a height of 1650 m. How to reach Gangtok? a) By Air- The nearest airport is approximately 124km away in Bagdogra, West Bengal. b) By Train- The nearest railway station to Gangtok is about 148kms away in New Jalpaiguri in Siliguri. You can further take taxis from airport or railway station to Gangtok. Hotels Hotels are easily available with beautiful view. I was lucky enough to get a room which had a window through which seeing sun rising in the arms of Himalayas was such a blessing. Also it was very close to MG road.

Major tourist points

Gangtok is famous for its peace loving simple people and also for its marvellous sights and tourist points. Top tourist points I visited that can never fade away from my memory are-

1) Tosmgo Lake- Clean,pure,beautiful and picturesque. It gives sense of calmness and purity.

2) Nathula Pass- It is basically India-China border. Believe me ,all those who love adventure and are beginners it can actually pop your heart out(it did mine lol).

3) MG marg- It is the main attraction in Gangtok. When I visited it had speakers all over the street and soft music was melodious treat to my ears. It is a vehicle free zone and most happening place in the town.

4) Baba Harbhajan Singh memorial Temple- It has quite fascinating history(no spoilers). It is beautifully written on Himalayas 'MERA BHARAT MAHAN' giving you patriotic vibes.

And there are many more eye catching points like-Hanuman Tok, Himalaya Zoo Logical Park, Ranka Monastery, Tashi view point etc.

The best time to visit Gangtok is between October and mid-December. Clear view of Himalayan peak can make you fall in love with it.

All those who want to relax themselves and want to go to hills and closer to nature and also somewhere in India, Gangtok is place for them.
